Shrimp Mutter Korma – Prawns Mutter Korma

 

Ingredients:

Small Shrimp (Prawns) – 1 lb
Green Peas – 1 cup
Tomatoes – 4 medium sized
Chopped Onions – 1/2 cup
Cilantro – a handful
Dhaniya powder – 2 leveled tsps
Garam Masala powder – 1 tsp
Yogurt – 3 tbs
Coconut powder – 2 tsps
Ginger Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Cloves – 4
Cinnamon Stick – 2 medium sized peices
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Jeera (Cumin) seeds – 1 tsp
curry leaves – a few
Green chillies – 2 slit lengthwise
Turmeric powder, Chilly powder & Salt – as per taste

Method:

De-tail & clean shrimp well (Frozen cooked shrimp is a good substitute).

Grind & puree tomatoes, cilantro & yogurt together.

Heat oil in a wok, add mustard seeds & allow them to splutter; Then add cumin seeds, onions, ginger garlic paste, cloves, cinnamon stick, curry leaves, green chillies & saute until onions turn brownish.

Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, dhaniya powder, salt & chilly powder.

Add green peas & mix well.

Add the pureed mixture & coconut powder, add 2 cups water & bring to a single boil

Add shrimp & cook until the shrimp becomes smaller & rounded.

Serve Hot with Rice/Rotis.
